If the Court appoints a guardian of the person or a guardian of the estate, it may also consider appointing the guardian&rsquos spouse as a co-guardian in an attempt to better protect the best interests of the child. In addition to having similar guardianship powers, the co-guardian will be subject to all the limitations and will have all of the duties of the petitioning guardian.
